Senior QA Engineer / QA Lead

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer (8+ years) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software quality assurance with hands-on expertise in designing test strategies, writing detailed test plans and test cases, executing manual and automated testing, and driving quality initiatives across the SDLC.

This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
• Perform manual testing for functional, integration, regression, and system-level verification.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts to support continuous integration and regression testing.
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or similar.
• Perform UI automation testing using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Manage defect tracking and reporting through JIRA (or other defect management tools).
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Ensure comprehensive regression testing before each release to maintain product stability.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, review, retrospectives) and contribute to agile testing best practices.
• Advocate for QA best practices and mentor junior QA team members.
• Ensure testing covers performance, usability, security, and compatibility aspects as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proven experience in manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools: Postman, SoapUI, Swagger.
• Experience with automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, or JUnit.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
• Proficient in defect management tools: JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Solid experience in regression testing, smoke testing, and UAT support.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to performance testing tools: JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related testing.
• Experience with mobile application testing (iOS/Android).
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) tools like Cucumber.
• ISTQB or other QA certifications.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
